Germany is Europe’s largest market for organic food and drink products and the second largest globally. Between 2004 and 2013, the share of organic products in total food and drink launches in Germany grew from 1% to 18%. Growing demand for fair trade and sustainable F&B products around the world will mean greater transparency in supply chains, smaller carbon footprints for producers and an increase in the rise of ethically-driven organic brands. With Frankfurt as host for this year’s Hi Europe & Ni, there’s no better reason to pay a visit to the Organic Pavilion.
Naturalness is one of the most important demand drivers in modern FMCG markets, and the ingredients industry is no longer the sole customer for natural ingredients (e.g. biofuels), leading to increased competition for supply of raw materials. The Natural Ingredients Pavilion provides an invaluable opportunity to source ingredients that are in high demand across multiple industries and front and centre of NPD in the F&B market – ingredients such as botanicals and natural colours and flavours, together with plant-based and herbal products.
