Visitor Guidelines on Sustainability

At Fi Europe, we’re committed to running the event in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Here are some ways you can contribute to the sustainability of the event, as an attendee.

How can you help us be sustainable?

Reduce Carbon Footprint

As part of our commitment to the sustainability of Fi Europe, one of our goals is to become a carbon neutral event. Here are some ways in which you can contribute to reducing carbon footprint:

Travel green

  • Reduce your carbon footprint by making use of the public transport to and from the event
  • If you are travelling by plane, make sure to offset the flight. To help us to become a carbon neutral event, you can purchase carbon offsets while registering for Fi Europe to compensate for the emissions produced by your flight. These are designed to counterbalance unavoidable carbon footprint by funding an equivalent carbon dioxide saving elsewhere in the world.
  • Book a hotel in the proximity of the venue to reduce your environmental impact

Go digital

  • Reduce your paper output by switching to digital alternatives such as the use of QR codes to save information about exhibiting companies and their products
  • This year we go digital with the Fi Europe badges – so you don’t need to print them out. Download the Fi Europe App to access your bagde and just scan the badge to enter the event.

Waste Reduction

  • Be aware of the waste that you are generating onsite (food packaging, plastic bottles, etc.)
  • Use a reusable coffee cup at any of the catering outlets around the venue

Sustainability at the online event

While your checklist for being sustainable at the in-person event can be more obvious, there are things that you can do during the online event, too, to be more sustainable. Be aware of our code of conduct and help us ensure a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for all.

Resource conservation

  • Reduce the brightness of your screen and remember to hibernate your computer when not in use to help reduce your energy usage.
  • Most event resources have been designed to be easily viewed online or via a mobile device so please avoid printing where possible to help reduce paper waste.

Make wellbeing a priority

  • Make sure you take a break to stay fresh and healthy during the online event.
  • Consider going for a walk with your earphones on while listening to a content session.
  • Consider eating a healthy meat free lunch during the event, it’s good for you and for the planet.

Be part of our community

Take part in our initiative of being sustainable and play a role in helping our markets improve its own sustainability.
