Check visa requirements

*Important: Most international visitors require a visa to enter China. Don’t leave this too late – it takes time to arrange a visa. Please read this article to check your visa status.

However China now offers visa-free entry to travellers holding ordinary passports from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Hungary, Switzerland, Ireland from December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024.

You will need to provide certain documents when you apply for your visa, including a passport, a visa application form, and supporting documents such as proof of employment, financial statements, or a letter of invitation from us.

You can apply for your visa at a Chinese embassy or consulate in your home country, or you can use a visa processing agency. We recommend that you apply for your visa at least 1-2 months in advance to ensure that you receive your visa in time for your trip.

Things to keep in mind when applying for a visa:

Make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the date of your planned entry into China.
Be prepared to provide detailed information about your travel plans, including your itinerary, accommodations, and proof of return or onward travel.
