Sustainability is of increasing importance to all industries. At Informa, sustainability is central to how we run our events, how we make decisions and how we do business on a daily basis. Every year, we aim to make the event more sustainable and to encourage our visitors and exhibitors to improve their sustainability efforts. In doing so, we strive to continue to improve the industry.

Hi & Fi Asia China is proud of how it contributes to the sustainability of the industry and has developed programs, content and networking opportunities focused on food sustainability, waste management, biodegradable material to widen this contribution

  • Continues to focus on the plant lifestyle section of the exhibition that promotes global sustainable development.
  • Held the Plant-based Forum for two years and will hold the International Plant-based Exhibition on site in 2023.
  • Display the sustainable content in the sustainable corner in the planter. Combine the spirit of environmental protection with a healthy lifestyle.
  • Includes two forum discussions exploring new ways and technologies for sustainable development in the food and beverage industry.
  • All contractors requested to use LED lighting
  • A/C only worked during show days, no AC during set up
  • Print less, use E-category
  • Taking care of and promoting the vegetarian offer for VIP visitors
  • Suggest our partners to bring the healthy food on site.

Our sustainable efforts

Each edition we look at ways to improve the sustainability of our events, based on the above three principles. Below is a selection of the initiatives that we have taken to improve our impact

Help our markets through inspiring sustainable development

  • This year we will invite Daofoods to hold a lecture titled "The Road to Carbon Neutrality in the Food Industry" to discuss with you the future opportunities and challenges of sustainable development in the food industry.”
  • The various forums and conferences provide insights into most recent industry trends
  • This year, we will launch a new Plant Based Forum to provide insights into the trend that is beginning to make grounds in China

Run the event in an increasingly environmentally responsible manner

  • Efficient LED lighting will be applied to all shell-scheme designs and feature areas
  • Airconditioning will be turned off on all build up days

Run the event in a socially responsible manner

  • Choosing local suppliers in the vicinity of the venue, and working with local hotels to encourage people to stay in close proximity to the venue
  • All exhibitors have to sign and follow our health and safety guidelines
  • A number of new health and safety measures introduced onsite
  • Added additional seating areas onsite for attendees to relax

How can you support sustainability

We are working with exhibitors, event partners and attendees to make Hi & Fi Asia-China a sustainable event. As part of this plan, we have developed suggestions and tips for both exhibitors and visitors.
